CHARLES TOWN, W.Va -- Two Jefferson County Schools are joining forces to create a very special fund raiser guaranteed to thrill all comers. It’s “Fright Night at the Fairgrounds” being held the last two Friday and Saturday nights in October (October 19, 20, 26, and 27).
This event is a fundraiser for both Charles town Middle School and Wright Denny Intermediate School.  The event has been planned by the PTSO from Charles Town Middle and the PTO from Wright Denny.
Avid Halloween enthusiasts find the haunted areas a real scream, full of good scares and fun as the Jefferson High School JROTC lend a hand to set up and serve as actors/scarers during the four nights of festivities. There will also be a special area available for non-scary activities for those who aren’t quite ready for a scary atmosphere. Families can enjoy attractions like a hay maze, games prepared by the Charles Town Middle School’s FFA club, a corn area, and other special activities.  There will be vendors selling food and snacks. Admission is $5.00 for children 8 and under and $10 for children 9 and older.
Jennifer Patoray has children at Charles Town Middle and is working on the planning committee. She said they are excited to do something new.
“We have a new principal, a new PTSO, and we really want to make a change and bring focus on the school,” she said. “People are so proud to have gone there, and we want to keep Panther Pride alive and well in the community.”
Wright Denny is also excited to be part of something new and different. Committee members say it is truly a joint effort between the two schools.
The fun happens at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Old Leetown Pike in Kearneysville, W.Va. from 6:00pm to 11:00pm for the last two weekends of the month.
