Coronavirus Precautions

5 step hand washing according to the CDC.

  1. Wet hands, lather in soap.
  2. Lather your hands by rubbing together with soap.
  3. Keep rubbing your hands together for at least 20 seconds to remove the largest amount of germs (SINGING Happy Birthday, in head).
  4. Rinse your hands well under clean running water.
  5. Dry your hands completely using a clean towel (individual) or an air dryer before touching another surface. A paper towel works well.

In a pinch, use hand sanitizer with 60-95% alcohol and rub it all over your hands until dry.

Clorox and Lysol products are recommended for cleaning.

How to greet during COVID-19 Pandemic

There are various ways to greet a friend without touching.

  1. Namaste – Press your palms together at the palm center, and bow your head slightly.

Used in Asia, i.e. India, and throughout Southeast Asia.

     “I bow to you.”

  2. Place your right hand on your heart.
Saying “Salaam alaikum (a-lay-kum)” or peace be upon you. Demonstrates genuine happiness to meet someone in Arabic speaking countries.
  3.  Shaka – “hang loose” in Hawaiian Islands.
Extend your thumb and pinky fingers while curling your three fingers towards your palm.
